Just wanted to say hello. We leave UK for Perth on 22 August, although getting sorted feels like two steps forward, three steps back. I have been reading this website daily since around February when my OH was offered a job in Perth but this is my first post, don't know why I waited so long. This site has been fab for answering all those millions of questions that kept popping up, so thanks to everyone you don't how much you've helped. It fact my OH is sick of me saying 'I'll just do a quck search on PIO' everytime we think of something else that needs doing. Our 2 children aged 14 and 19 are coming out with us (the 14yr old cos he has no choice and the 19yr old cos she can't face doing her own washing, cooking cleaning!) and they are both really excited.

Well you've got the hard bit done - you've done your first post CONGRATULATIONS. We've been in Perth since January and feel really settled, pack a couple of jumpers and your PJ's it gets a bit cold at night and first thing in the morning. Having said that my hubby is still wearing shorts for work and I can't remember the last time I wore a jacket.

Wow with less than a month to go you really must be so excited and nervous at the thought of your new venture. Sooooooo, what does Perth have lined up for you on your arrival and have you got any handy tips for the likes of us... who are on the path to getting our Visa?
