WelcomeIf you are new to Poms In Oz and migrating to Australia or currently living in Australia feel free to say hi to all the other either in or moving to Oz.
Hello, Like most of you good people on this site, we have decided that emigrating to Oz is exactly what we would like to do for our future. We are married with two young daughters 9 & 4 and we reckon that it would be a massive and fantastic future for all of us, does any one agree/disagree? If anyone has got any information on the best place to start the process we would love to hear from you.
hi welcome to the site sounds like a good plan to me!!!
have you been on the australian government website and done the points test to see if you could get a visa? thats the best place to start and then decide if you will go it alone or use an agent
As ******* says prob best to start with how many points you have, and after that of course it's a huge country and you can start to check our where you would like to live.
Have you relatives in Oz that your thinking of being near?

Hi guys welcome to poms ,we made the move last year with our 2 age 3 & 8yrs,it is a much better lifestyle for all of us but especially for them. Its hard knowing where to start and if the Immigration website confuses you try giving Visa Bureau a call, they normally offer free info,we used these guys and they are fantastic. You dont say what trade you or hubby are in and depending on that will dictate what type of visa you qualify for, theres loads of helpful and firendly people on here so if you get stuck with anything ,post away and im sure someone will be able to answer your queries,,

Thanks Cal,
That does make us feel better that the kids will love it out there. Just looking around at the points system and was wondering how many points is the average to start a good application. I am a mechanic in the forces and i am struggling to find equivalent qualifications to my C&G's online. Any ideas where to look?
