We have had our visa for 3 years and are finally able to move aftrer tying up loose ends in the uk. We validated 3 yrs ago and we are moving to Sydney 17t5h August.......yes one month tomorrow!!!
Cant bloody wait especially after the weather in manchester being so poor for the last however long i can remember.
We d like to here from anyone who want to say hi, especially if you are of or already are living in Sydney veery soon.

Good luck with the move! I'm in Sydney and have been here for 3 months now. The weather hasn't been brilliant here recently much to my surprise but it's brightening up now and I'm sure it will be lovely by the time you guys get here.

Jimboomba or Boomba as my 3 yr old calls it ,is behind the gold coast hinterland near Mt tamborine,we are under Beaudesert shire council and not too far from anything! .We stumbled across it one day and it offers us a bit of everything we wanted in our new life.Didnt expect it to be this chilly thou ,so be warned.Ali who answered first was from Preston but not sure where,she'll prob reply to you later as she'll be pretending to be work when really she goes and sits in the park all day!!!!alright for some ,lol

I'm based in Lane Cove/Chatswood area on the North Shore. And yes I've settled in fine, I moved here to be with my Aussie boyfriend so I have someone that knows the place, although have been missing my friends back home a bit. Luckily I found this site though and all us Sydney girlies are meeting up in a couple of weeks! Will be good to meet some new people.
I think quite a lot of meets are arranged on the site. And if there's nothing going on in your area it's pretty easy to arrange something yourself, just post and everyone's always up for a meeting. Especially if there's beer involved! No different to the UK there!

I've been in Sydney for 10 months now and loving it! It's a great place to be, lots to see and do and the climate is great. We've had quite a bit of rain lately and the locals are saying it's been the coldest winter they can remember in years but to us Brits it's nothing like a winter as we know it! Ok, it's been rather chilly, especially in the mornings and evenings and sometimes the wind is cold but when you've been through a hot Sydney summer you would feel the cold but it's not that bad! You'll be arriving at a good time as it should be starting to warm up and before you know it spring and summer will be here and that's fantastic....enjoy!
