Dependant on which visa your trying for, i think depend's on time it takes to process an verify, also different states.

Some peep's on here have been waiting a couple of year's some peep's are quicker, as i said depends what visa your after an if your using an agent or not.

Our timeline below gives quite a good indication of how long it has taken for us. Mind you the first skills assessment was July 2005 so it has been quite a long time coming!
Hope this helps a little,

Felicity

Zac

We were fortunate in that my husbands job in on the skills in demand list (electrical engineer) so maybe that helped us. We got his UK qualification sent and approved in November 06. We then applied for our visa in March 'ish, We sent all the information they requested at the start of June, it was a Friday and then a week on the Monday we had our visa. Although obviously we are able to go anytime now, we don't expect to move permanently for another 2 yrs.

Looking througth the threads I think we were fortunate to get our visa so quickly. Many people on here have encountered frustrating delays and alot of expense but I think they all agree it is worth it.

Good luck, the sooner it's in the sooner you get it!!

Michelle

thanks michelle, it looks like being in the engineering world could be of an advantage then. Does the Visa have an expiry date/life or is it open ended?
