Question Where to start?

Hello everyone,
have finally made the decision to emmigrate, but where to begin? so many questions. My wife and I spent a year in oz, backpacking a few years ago so we have some idea about life in oz.
I'm a bricklayer and have done the points test on the oz house website and scored 130 so all good there. We have started to look at various websites to do with jobs, e.g, seek.com. None of which noted the wages.
We first thought about Perth as a new home, but are unsure. Sydney appears to be to expensive. Do wages vary greatly from city to city? Possible choices being perth, adelaide, sydney or brisbane. Then of course there are all the other questions to do with property, schools, healthcare, taxation etc etc. Any pointers will be much appreciated.
One other question, are immigration agents worth it? and if so, how do you pick the right one? Thanks everyone, Adam and family

Hi Adam and family, and welcome to the site. So many questions, I'm sure people on here will be only to pleased to give you some answers to them all. We are hoping to head to Adelide area, oh is a roofer, and yes by reading threads on the site wages and house prices do differ to different areas. We are using an agent called Go-Matilda they have offices in Southampton and also in OZ, also their MD uses this site, who ever you use make sure they are a registered migration agent.

Good luck with your process

Hi and welcome to the site. The first thing you need to do before anything is your TRA. I'm a nurse so can't help with yours and by comparrison the nursing skills assessment is easier than other trades. There area alot of people on here who can help you with it, but from what I've read you need to put everything in. You don't need to use an agent if you think it will all be straigtforward

Hi
Yes the first thing to do is the TRA, which in our experiece (hubbys a plumber) can be pretty time-consuming as you need to get quite a lot of information. There is a lot of info on this site though and we didn't use an agent and we were granted our visas last month. Good Luck

Hiya and welcome to poms in Oz ,,we used an agent just to have someone there to oversee everything and help with any queries. We used Visa Bureau and they were fantastic. The tra is the first and most important bit you have to do,they basically want you to list in detail all tools and tasks learnt and salary rises in accordance ,,hope this helps a bit
