Thank's Abi&Dan, Ali, Jo&John, Alfixie, Em, Michelle and lifebegins@40 for your comment.

This weekend Marieke, Bob and I gonna sit together, read your thoughts and make a decision.

You where all very positive about going to Oz, but are there also negative things you experienced living and working in Oz. It is not that I'm looking for an excuse but like to have a headstart.

We haven't yet had a negative experience, but we did read threads/posts from people who have returned to uk as we felt that it's important to look at the whole picture and to ask yourself if that happened what would we do? For many, I think their reasons for returning are that they missed family support networks I think that would be the top reason. If you can afford to visit Australia I would do so, I know being here on holiday and living are very different experiences but you would know if you liked the country or not.

For us it has been a very positive experience so far and we certainly have no regrets.... Ali

You're absolutely right about needing negative aspects as well as positive aspects. I genuinely think that the ones that return to their original country are people who haven't considered all the points and what they find isn't Utopia - and that comes as a very nasty surprise to people who have expected that - then the negative things get blown out of all proportion in their minds.

So forewarned is forearmed.

There are loads of threads on the subject - also I did one a while ago called 'what's rubbish about Oz' (do a search and select 'show threads' if you want to see). To be honest there was nothing major at all that bothered me but it does make interesting reading from the people who really know.

Hi Poms,

After putting the posies and nega's on paper (Thank's 4 that, especially about the seizes of the bugs ) It's only fair to let you know what we decided. We went for a Dutch polder solution. That means we are not going right away but we are going as well prepared as posible propably same time in two years.

Our plan is that I will apply for a study on the University of Sydney, a Master of Learning Science and Technology. It is like the same study I did in the Netherlands, but on e-learning Australia is far ahead. For some parts of the courses I have to be in real time in Sydney, the bigger part I can study in the Netherlands. In this way I learn more about living and working in OZ and I'll be better prepared for a working job in OZ.

....we gonna keep you posted. Many thank's for your advices.
