Help!

Hi, this is my first visit! We've just had our medicals done and waiting police checks. Hoping to go to Perth. Not sure how long we'll have to wait now.....could anyone give me an idea? Steve,Lynn,Connor (10) and Ewan(6)

How long you've gotta wait now depends on what visa you are going on. Is it a skilled one?

We're going on a skilled independent..Steve's a motor mechanic. I think I'm going through the negative 'we're not gonna get in' stage!

If you've had your meds requested then you are as good as "in" already! Our meds took 2 weeks to organise and our police checks took 2 weeks to come back. When we sent these off it took 3 weeks to get our visa granted.

Just as buckbuchanan says - you're as good as there then! (assuming police checks come back fine - sorry nothing implied there).
Our visa was granted within a month of meds and police checks being sent in so could be any time soon.

Welcome to PIO. The visa's seem to vary in time but not that long. My O/H is also a mechanic. I have a cousin in Perth who tells me that he won't have a problem getting work.
