New, and without a clue!Manchester 2 Sydney

Just to say Hi and were we up to. Well myself and husband are hoping to move out to Sydney from Manchester on a 457 in the next few months. Seem to be having a nightmare with the visa process and still have not submitted our part. My OH is now in Sydney for a month working and he will be going backwards and forwards until the visa a are hopefully approved.I am finding the whole process stressful and now lonely as well and I seem to have beome an expert moaner

Anyway, trying to busy myself with finding removal quotes,dog export quotes(oh I hope this bits straight forward) and finding areas we might like to live in. Reading about everybody elses experiences also helps so thanks.

I'm fairly new too and are going to Sydney mid - late July with my husband and two children also on a 457 visa.
We are hoping to live out in the Hills district as my husband will not be working in the CBD. Have you any idea at all where you will be based?
Isn't there SO much to do/think about?!
As far as shipping quotes go - haggle. We managed to get our company down by £500 and also reduce insurance from 3% to 2.5%.

So nice to hear from people in similar positions.
We are in Didsbury, South manchester(well I am!) so must be very near. It sounds like you are both much further along than us who are still trying to work out how to submit the visa- and I understand the 457 is straight forward. Not sure where we'll be living. Had a 5 day trip to look round, looked at Manly,Fairlight, Balgowlah. Hard to know really. Have been told Mosman is nice so husband under strict instructions to investigate at the weekend. Hard cos we want nice area, outside space, dog friendly,near beach, near city and in an area were we can eat out etc. Not a lot to ask (lol).

The dog is proving very costly and complicated(but v worth it) so I can imagine having children must be even more so. Look forward to hearing more about the moves?
