Help Please On Passports And Birth Certificates

Hi My Agent Told Me Today To Make Sure Everyone Who Is To Go On The Visa Application Will Need A Passport With At Least Two Years Remaining On It, And All Must Have A Full Birth Certificate, My One Was Full And Sent It Off But Oh And The Kids Only Have Part Birth Certificates. I Was Wondering Do You Go To Registrar And Get Them The Same Day Or Do You Have To Wait For Them, And Do You Have To Go To The Registrer Office Where You Where Born As They Were All Born In Different Areas Which Would Mean Visiting 3 Different Offices And Having To Travel Half Way Around The Country, And My Daughters Passports Still Have About 10 Months To Run So Can You Renew Before They Expire And Does It Cost As Much As A New Passport, I Am Sure Somebody On Here Will Know, Thanks.

Hi Kazmatt, my son didn't have a full birth certificate as we lost the first one, anyway we just phoned told them we went through to an answer phone service and tells you to post a cheque for £5.00 and give details of their name , fathers name, mothers name and place of birth. The certificate was with us within a week!
Sorry don't know about passport, try and look up their website, it is quite informative
regards

Hi ya
We applied for birth certificates online, just searched for registar offices, printed off form and sent off with cheques. As kdal says, have a look at UK passport Office website for info on passports although l am fairly certain you can get new one sometime before other expires.
Good luck
Lyn

Hi Kazmatt

With regards to the passport!!! My daughter rang out just after we submitted our application. all we did was get her a new one when it was due, had certified and sent the info to our agent. They knew when we submitted the application it was going to run so don't worry. I submitted our application last October and have only just sent my daughter new passport details. We have had a date to enter but it's too soon because we did our police checks last year

Think ours were about £10 each so £23 does seem bit pricey, guess different areas charge different prices.
As regards passports, we were told that you should have 2 yrs left when visa granted.
Also, hate to say this but if you think 23 quid is expensive for birth certificates then its only gonna get worse, sorry!

p.s. Jenny, wot are you gonna do regarding entry?

kazmatt at £23.00 you have probably been on one of these websites that do copies for you, all you have to do is contact the registry office that the birth was registered at then send them payment of £7.00, mine i had to send cheque but husbands they took payment over phone
