Hiya Peggy

Glad to hear you and your family have arrived ok, hope your enjoying the start of your new life. Hope you don't mind me asking a quick question.
We have two children age 4 and 2 1/2 and are just in the process of looking into flights, hopefully for early August. We have been looking at both Singapore and Emirates from Manchester to Brisbane. Is this the route you took? The reason I'm asking is we are not sure whether we should do the Singapore flight (1x14hr and 1x7hr to Brisbane) or the Emirates which is 3 x 7hr flights. Many thanks.

Lisa

Glad to hear you've arrived safe and sound. We've flown both Emirates and Singapore, I thought they were both Excellent, hubby liked Singapore best.

Hi Lisa

Weve booked with emirates, weve got a boy (3) and a girl (18mths) thought it would be better to have a couple of breaks on the way. Also we booked a night flight out of Birmingham so hopefully they will sleep for the 1st leg (Yeah right who am i kidding). They also gave us extra baggage allowance of 50kg each. When are you heading out? were off in August.

Hope this helps

Nicky

Flights

Hi Lisa,

We have also been looking at flights Manchester to Brisbane at the end of June. We are going for Emirates, just because they give you a 50kg allowance, which is an awful lot. I have flown with Emirates many times before and never had any problems (my sister lives in Dubai), but I can't comment on singapore airlines. Emirates are slightly more expensive (just a couple of hundrend pounds) but the baggage allowance compensates for that. I suppose it's whats more important to you, money or baggage? Good Luck, where about are you heading in Brisbane - we are heading for the Gold Coast.

Hi
We thought about doing the emirates flights but decided it was better for evan to get it all out of the way in one go instead of landing staying for a bit then flying again to only have to stop off again before you do the final flight.
we had 40 kgs of luggage and we had a 10 month old so you can imagine all the stuff we bought with us and we never got any where near the limit (we bought a seat for evan as well so he could have his own space on the plane instead of sitting in our lap and that was a god send. it cost us for 2 adults seats and 1 child seat with singapore 1165 pounds one way.

Hi all,
thanks for your replies, we are hoping to fly out in August, just in the process of sorting accomodation. Looks like both Singapore and Emirates have good reviews, think it will probably come down to availabilty when we book. Thanks again for your replies.

Lisa
