Hiya Breezy!!!!!!!!

The Forms 1221 was requested after the application was sent - I completed it to the best of my ability because alot of the questions were ones I had no answer to at the time.

It was requested by Immigration. The form 80 was requested for each person over 16 30th April by Case Officer in Immigration - I completed, scanned and sent through that night - the Visa came the next day (approx 2 hours after receving the completed from 80's)

I do know from chatting to Canberra and Immigration, that they are snowed under at the moment and that some people are getting different Case Officers haf way through - they changed the way they do their business a few months ago and this caused a bit of a backlog - they are getting through it though and seem to have extra help

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

Angie

It does seem very inconsistent but I guess that we taught them bureaucracy. It is interesting that you had to fill in 1221 and not 80 originally and perhaps you also fell foul of a system change half way through.

Hi Nicky

We are also going to Perth.... just waiting for our labour agreement. We were told yesterday that it has been applied for, they said they would chase it up for us. On speaking to Penny last night she said they have overwhelmed by the interest they generated on the visit.... think they'll be busy for a while!

We haven't got our meds yet but know they won't take long. In the process of form filling arghh!!!

My huband leaves officially on the 30th September, his early release was approved thankfully. The captain wasn't a happy bunny but we don't care!

Good luck and maybe see you there.... the more contacts we make now the easier it will be I hope!

Hi Penny

thanks for the info, your only too right about knowing people and making contacts it can only make things easier the other end. I wonder if them being overwhelmed is going to slow things down, can't wait to get out of here to be honest, looking foward to a new start and new life. Good to hear someone else has got early release though - did you have to prove you were going to Oz or had an offer in order to get early release? Hubby isn't sure if he'll get it yet keeping evrything crossed . Do you know when you are going yet?

Hi Nicky

I'm Kate (Penny is the Ran officer in Australia!!!!) it did make me smile you calling me Penny! How distracted and excited are you??/

We had no problems with early release, however I don't consider it early release (mike my husband had done his time (22 years... yes we are old!) he is currently on extended service, he'd have been out of jail for murder by now! We didn't have to prove anything as far as I know. Worse case senario is you do your 12 months notice, believe me it will fly by! Ask anyone on here!

We are aiming to fly out on the 1st of October, I know couple of people taking this route and once the labour agreement is through the visa application is fairly quick.

I'm happy to share anything I know, although I have say Angie has been a real God send!! Thanks Angie for all your help (shame you guys aren't going to Perth ..... I've nearly got enought RN wives to have my Netball team!!!!!!!)
