Hi...
Does anybody know if we still have to resit our driving test out in OZ?

I thought I read on one of the threads that its changed and you don't have to.
But then I heard that you have too.
Is anyone out in OZ or here know which it is..please could you let us know cheers.

Hi, I'm living in the UK at the mo but planning to move to Oz. Apparently a UK licence lasts for 3 months or an international licence lasts 1 year. Beyond that period you have to sit the Oz driving theory test.

Hi ya Mark and Trace
l read somewhere too that you only need to show you uk licence and they will give you an aussie one in some states but at worse you only need to do the theory bit.
Sure someone will confirm either way for sure!

In Queensland you dont have to sit a test at all to drive a car, but you do if you want to drive an HGV,this is non transferable. Not sure about the other states, sorry.

Hope this helps

Hiya you can buy a 1yr,3yr or 5 yr licence ,no tests involved anymore its a straight swap (cars &motorbikes not hgv) its advisable you do your licence as near to a special day as you can,, i.e ,,birthday so you have a reminder of when it needs renewing,,i think it cost approx $55 for 5 yrs ,,hope this helps

You dont have to sit a test in Victoria. Just make an appointment with Vicroads and change your licence over for a new one. There is a fee but cant remember how much!

In Victoria that also covers your motorbike license but as with Queensland you have to do different HGV tests.
