i first logged on in may last year as we were hoping to start the ball rolling and make the move to oz, but circumstances made it difficult. everythings back on track now and i am sending skills assessmet of next week whipee! i have been watching PIO all the while though, fab site!
me and my husband spent last month on a rekkie in queensland. (wish we were still there) it was fantastic. We have fallen in love with Hervey Bay and the surrounding area and we'd like to know has anybody lived there or spend any lenght of time there?
any thoughts and feelings on the place would be appreciated

Hello Erma, We have only visited Hervey Bay on holiday a couple of times, but found it rather nice. And of course you have frazer island and the whales. Our jobs require population on a slightly larger scale tho so we are starting at Noosa with easy access to all sunshine coast and hinterland. Good luck with skills assessment. Things seem to have speeded up for people this year compared to last. Where in south yorkshire are you? we are just up the m1.
we are just outside Rotherham. I dont know if we may need to move to a larger populated area to find work also. I am a staff nurse and hubby is a plumber and heating engineer. I know there is a small hospital in Hervey bay and some private clinics etc. Building work seems to be everywhere in Hervey bay at the moment so i dont think he would have probs finding work. But i suppose we`d better get visa first before stressing about that! What line of work are you in (if you dont mind me asking)
HI GUYS were from doncaster and heading out to brisbane in 2 weeks time we were in hervey bay 5 years ago spent the new year on frazer island. it was great only spent 1 or 2 night in hervey bay though .good luck with your TRA

We are nurses also. Theatres, been agency for about 4 years getting into the swing of casual work! Mainly work in leeds but done some stretches in sheffield and Rotherham. Found the paper work quite easy to complete, it's the waiting thats the killer. We have been told we can have our visa as soon as co recieves scanned updated police check, so gonna be brave and book flights for 10-15 june. The weather is beautifull in bris at the mo apparently. If you need a hand with anything, give us a shout.
