Hi , im new to the site but have been watching for a few weeks. Im a nurse and im just waiting for my skill assessment to come back from the ANMC . I was told it would take 6-8 weeks and i am now in my 11thweek . Is there any nurses out there at have been waiting this long. Also does anyone know how long it is taking for nurses to get there visas through at the moment.:confused:
Hello pippadee, Welcome. If you have been waiting so long, give them a ring or e mail. I know the state bodies are inundated with applicants for registration, so the anmc will be also.(we got our nursey stuff done last March-May). We have been waiting an unusually long time, but i believe things are speeding up with the employ of more case officers. Time frames seem to fluctuate enormously. My friends took 5 month in total early last year, ours has taken 10, and still counting. good luck with everything. If you need any info feel free to send me a private message and i'll do my best. There are loads of folk on here with loads of friendly advice and info also. Ask away...
Skilled independant 136. Starting off in noosa, about 1.5 hour drive north of brisbane, for the first 6-7 months anyway. Very nice and holidayesque there. Also have sister and her family there. And then who knows? We will be sure to have a thorough exploration of oh so many other areas before settling. No jobs lined up or owt yet. Just going to turn up and ease in.
I have a sister in Perth Fremantle . Shes lived there for 12 years. Im married with 4 kids , all looking forward to a new life down under . Lets just hope we get there!

I emailed them 2 weeks ago and they said they were proccessing it that week ,dont like to keep emailing them in case they put me to the bottom of the pile for getting on at them !!!!!

welcome to PIO. There is always someone on here to help with queries or just to let off steam to so don't be afraid to ask questions, however stupid you think they are. I am a midwife but still in the process of gathering info for ANMC skills assessment. I'm sure if your email to them is worded appropriately they won't mind you enquiring every now and then. After all, if you don't, and (god forbid) they misplace your records or something , you'll be waiting an awfully long time.

p.s. Nothing to do with Oz I know but my Mum used to buy all my clothes from Pippadee (a clothing party plan company from the 70's), when I was a kid....., is it still going I wonder????? Does anyone else remember them???? Sorry im waffling now, but it brought back a few memories............
