Hi All

Hi, my husband and I have decided to apply for migration to Australia along with our four children, 10, 9,7 and 4. We are currently filling in the TRA form and I am really worried about falling at the first hurdle. Steven is a Panel Beater and besides telling them that he is trained in repairing panels and replacing panels and the tools he uses, I am unsure what else we can add. We cant approach his employer but we do have a statutory declaration and independent statements from a co worker and his foreman. Any advice at all would be gratefully received.

Thanks Kerrie :D

Hi Kerrie,
we have just passed our TRA after our 2nd attempt. I suggest you break every single part of his job into miniscule detail, the TRA treat it as if they know nothing about your trade and you are teaching them everything they need to know to be able to do the job themselves. if Steven has done any college courses or has any training records copies of these will help. You dont mention which skill pathway you are intending on using, once you have decided on that you can search the TRA guidelines for further advice.
Good Luck!!
Kim

Hi Kerrie,
I can't be any help, other than to confirm you really need to account for every minute and every tiny skill learnt - and how / where etc!

But...I know someone who is a panel beater (I'm pretty sure; we seem to know a few people who beat things and it gets a bit confusing when you're old and forgetful...and what was I saying?). Anyway, if you have any specific question, feel free to ask and I'll try to find out for you.

Good luck, and welcome to a brilliant forum with lots of great, funny people and the weirdo otherwise known as Mrs PooMasher.

Hiya

Am really not sure what a panel beater does but we had to describe a few jobs (electrical) from start to finish like

Repairing cabling for a generator - and listed all the steps from start to finish in bullet points

Fitting Air con unit - then listed all the steps

Just like you were describing to someone how it do it.
