WelcomeIf you are new to Poms In Oz and migrating to Australia or currently living in Australia feel free to say hi to all the other either in or moving to Oz.
Just starting to really look into the whole emigration thing. It has occupied my mind constantly for the past few years since the smallies were born. I am still 3 years away from moving (anyone know of anything I can start yet?) for various reasons, but am so excited I want to be sick.
Have a brain full of silly ideas, including: buying a house over the 'net so I don't have to pay rent when I arrive; taking 6 months off when I arrive (I figure I deserve it); doing anything for a job that does not involve sitting in front of a chuffing PC all day.
But all I really want is to live somewhere warm, where my children can grow up with a great attitude to sport and a sound perspective on life. Meanwhile I intend to take life a whole lot less seriously, relax and when it all gets too stressful sit in the hot tub with Mrs Impatient.
At the moment I am just browsing these sites and writing lists of things I need to do! Seems to be endless, but exciting at the same time, just wish I was closer to going so that I could apply for something!
Take care everyone
Impatient, Mrs Impatient and all the Iccle Impatients

Hello,
Wardy's right, I don't think that I could wait that long, but it will still be very exciting for you. Haven't put in TRA form yet, still trying to fill it out, so could end up being three years by the time I get my act together!
Ang.
Hello!!! Welcome to the site!!!!
Just to let you know, you're not alone! We're waiting as well! We aren't applying till this time next year..... at least. Off for a reckie in feb next year and then we'll start the whole process after that.
Good luck!!!

Woah- three years!!! You must have nerves of steel! It was hard enough waiting one and a half!!!
Will you be coming over for a holiday / rekkie then? At least you'll have lots of time to get everything, and everybody prepared, and you'll have time to make lots of contacts through sites like this so that you will have a few friends waiting 'on the other side'.
Good luck!
Yours amazingly cheerfully,
LC.
If you're impatient now, you'll have had a nervous breakdown in 3 years. The whole process is a series of highs, lows and lots of waiting ...... This is a great site to share joys, worries and frustrations.
Good luck
Ali

I can certainly relate to your situation. We started thinking of emmigrating enf oj 2002, started the process in 2003 and we arrived here in Nov 2006. So we did a 3 year stint, the best advise I could offer, is when you are not having to do anything emmigration related try and get on with living your life, as I think you could probably go crackers.
And yes I agree how th hell can it be 2010 in 3 years time! I still have a hangover from the millenium!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Crikey, even more excited now - thanks for the messages!
Am mainly just making lists about what I need to do and when. Kinda figure I have enough time to do everything myself rather than go through an agent, which should save me some pennies for a hot-tub when I get there!
Mrs Impatient is a Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist and can't wait to set up in Brizzie - thinking about following in her footsteps myself as I would love to work for myself (or her!) and spend as much time as possible outside. One condition, no starts before 0830!
Anyway, will stop hassling you all now, thankyou for the welcome and take care
Impatient
