There was another post about this not long ago and I swear it said that you have to use a pet agency as the airlines wouldn't take them otherwise also everyone was thouroughly recomending Petair as they were run by vets not just an agency.
Its the airlines that won.t except flat faced dogs as they cannot cope with the change in altitude and they can't breathe.

Dog Dilemma

Hiya
I've been looking into transporting my pets myself having been horrified at the 5.5K quote received for two dogs from heathrow to melbourne + quarentine!! My dogs only cost me £35 originally from a pet shop!!

My research has also shown that the live stock companies don't actually look after your dogs during the flight and have no accss to them.

So far I've found that KLM do flights without Livestock agents. I have some other contacts through defra that I' m also looking into ... is anyone else looking at an independent dog transport route?

Liz
