We brought our staffy and westie out 5 weeks ago. Sorry to say but we had an horrenous time with them (well one of them). Chewed his way out of the crate at Heathrow, had to be in quarantine in Heathrow for an extra week awaiting super strong cage, arrived in Sydney out of crate once again! He then got chest infection in kennels and they had to be separated which was awful as they have been together since 8 weeks old and when we picked them up Gus (staffy) looked like he had been in a concentration camp, he was so thin and covered head to toe in dandruff he looked dreadful. Oh and he had chewed out of another cage that day too awaiting us! It cost us about 4000 pounds to get them here, plus $1300 dollars in Sydney quarantine, plus vets fees and if you want them walking thats extra too so that cost us $130 cos they only went out 3 times. Expensive do I'm afraid - mind you so is the rest of the stuff in Oz. Rentals, cars and food also very expensive and not so good wages - makes it all hard work! Just enquire if you can def take your dog, there are certain breeds with 'squashed noses' (they said that not me) that they wont allow to fly cos of breathing difficulties so just make sure first.
Hope this helps x

Nathen

r u frum tarn lol . We have brought our Border Collie over from Rotherham. We initially decided to leave him with folks but when we arrived in Perth decided to bring him. We used Petair, they arte based in Dorset. They have 2 packs]ages silver and Gold 1500 quid for silver and 2500 quid for gold ], we had same quotes in uk. The gold package they do the whole business they come to you to do all the blood tests paperwork etc. We chose this because it was no hassle for the inlaws he was stoppin we. The quarantine cost about $750. We were concerned about him becos he had only been in kennels once in uk last october when we went on hols and hje had a bad time. He is with us now and is having a champion time. In quarantine he was ok nbut would notgo out, that was him. In Perth the visiting times are mornins so as I workmdays we could not go but speakin to others it was best as if you can visit regular its fine but if you can only go once my opinion is that it creates more stress for them
