Motor bikes in the desert

My son wants us to get a couple of scramblers and take them to the desert/outback to mess about (not too far in) would this be legal as he's only 13 ,he has a bike here that we take to a bit of private ground.We would take them on a trailer to wherever,are there laws concerning this or is this inadvisable....jamie

Hiya most people around the rural ,semirural areas have trials bikes ,we have just bought a house on 2 acres and bought my son one ,you get the ususal anti-trails people complaining in the local paper but as long as you are considerate in regards to time of use etc you shouldnt have a problem,there are also a few tracks in and around Brissy so he will be fine.
