Hi Debbie,

It is a good site isn't it. Everyone is really helpful & friendly. I'm afraid I cant help with info about sponsorship but I'm sure someone else will be able to give you hints and tips.

What do you and your husband do? As that info may help others point you in the right direction.

Good luck ....dont give up!

Hi Debbie

Phil Olsen is a Perth-based Migration Agent who posts on here periodically.

Business Name : Imigrate Australia Pty Ltd ATF the iMigrate Trust Migration Agent Registration Number:
0637276

Phone : 08 9245 9350
Facsimile : 08 9245 9350
Business Address

4a Slalom Drive
WEMBLEY DOWNS
WA 6019
AUSTRALIA

Postal Address
PO Box 1072
WEST PERTH
WA 6872
AUSTRALIA

e-mail Address : philipo@imaus.com.au

Phil is a really good guy. Trucking is not even on any of the lists for skilled migration, but Phil was approached by some HGV drivers. He got in touch with the largest firm of road-hauliers in WA, had a meeting with them and convinced them not only that they needed 5-10 truckers, but also that they needed to think about giving them RSMS visas, which I think are PR visas. Phil is currently helping a bricklayer via his contacts in the construction industry in WA.

What happens is that a lot of employers don't know the first thing about Immigration, so they tend to be worried by the idea of having to go through an employer-sponsorship process that they know nothing about. Where Phil scores (apart from being on the spot and having excellent contacts) is that he is able to tell these would-be employers that he can take care of the sponsorship and visa end of things both for them and for the person they want to hire. That gets rid of the employer's fears about the whole process.

I'd recommend that you e-mail Phil and give him all the information you can about yourselves. Ages, work experience and so on. Obviously he would expect to charge if he handles your application for you, but that is only reasonable for a guy who really is prepared to go the extra mile to help people to get into Oz somehow.

I'll send you a PM in a minute as well, because I've got some other ideas that might help you, but nobody wants to read endlessly long posts from me, that is for sure!

Cheers

Gill

Im an electrician, so my trade is on the occupation demand list which made it easy for me to get into Oz.
I presume that you have looked into all the ways of gaining extra points?
Im sure there are pleanty of people that can point you in the right direction, just keep asking questions and they will be answered. I've had a lot of good advice from the forum during my visa process.
Keep the faith guys, you'll get there in the end
