We are new to the site & to the idea of moving to Australia, its all making my head spin!
We've always joked that one day we would emigrate to Australia but suddenly the idea has taken hold.
We have completed an online application (125 points - is that good?) and are waiting to hear form the agent - we have used the visa bureau (have read a few posts & people seem to have good things to say about them?!)
We decided to use an agent cos we don't think we have time to do things ourselves. As we are applying on a skilled visa (I am a nurse), we have to get the application in before I am 45 - which unfortunately isn't that far away!
Must say at the moment I am totally confused about the whole process, hopefully the fog will lift when we start the process!
Just wanted to say Hi & thank you all for the time you spend giving help & advice - am sure we will need plenty of it before long!

It is the first time to this site. Just back from Cairns, which activated our visas, whilst there completed the Blue Card (waiting for results). I am a plumber gas fitter by trade here in the U.K. Although Cairns is a fantastic place we feel its not the place for us. We are now thinking of heading South i.e. Adelaide area, any info would be appreciated on housing areas. Also we are keen Superbike followers her in the U.k. and would like to start following Oz Superbikes once we come over.Any info would be great.

Hiya good luck with your application ,i dont think you will go wrong with Visa Bureau ,we found them excellent,,they also explain everything so it all becomes a little less hazy ,if you do get stuck ,we are pretty good on here and will help you as much as we can .were in Oz are you fancying ??

Haven't decided for definate where we want to go yet. Have cousins in NSW, a nursing friend in Adelaide & Phil has a mate in Perth - all of them telling us theirs is the best place to go!
I think that nursing jobs are the same wherever we go, but Phil is really into sailing & powerboating so we need to be near water. At the moment we are starting to look at Perth or Brisbane but pretty open really.
How did you all decide on where to settle? Do most people go to relatives? Maybe we will just stick a pin in the map in the end?!?!
Hey if ya got friends everywhere else then I reckon Qld is the place to be :)....Only kidding!! We are heading to Qld as Pauls mumn partner and his brother and his wife are already there..We have been before but to be honest I think wherever you settle, you cant go far wrong :)
