Hi to everyone moving to Aus!!!

Hi Guys,
This is my first time on this forum,we had a recc to Aus in May 2006 and loved it so much that we have applyed to go to melbourne.
We have had a positive reply back from the ACS for my Hubby ,we were accepted by the Aus Gov also, but they have put the wrong code for my hubby to work. We have had to apply again which cost us $300 dollars to get the code changed.
We are just sitting tight now untill this comes through.
I was just wondering if anyone has gone through an appeal, and what was there results?.
We are wanting to get to Aus by end of this year as we have been planning this for ages (can't Wait).

Hope to hear from someone!!

Shona

Hi Shona,
Welcome to the site! Hope you find it as useful as we do!

Which part of Australia are you hoping to go to? We're hopefully off to Melbourne July 2008. I'd go tomorrow, but waiting for daughter to finish A levels before we take the plunge.
Best of luck!

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

We are hopeing to get to Aus at the end of this year or begining of 2008.
Can't wait either as this has been a long process.
We are looking at Point Cook ,Sanctuary Lakes or Williams Town, and Geeelong maybe Mornington , as there has been a lot of talk on some of the postings in the Forum.
We went out to Aus in May 2006 for a month spending a week in sydney,a week in Melbourne and 3days on Kangaroo Island(Which was great) and the rest of the time in adelaide where we have friend.
We were bowled over with everything Melbourne will give to us as a family,Melbourne seems to have alot going for it as my hubby is an engineer in IT Project Management and there seems to be lots of jobs for him to get.
Sorry i didn't reply earlyer as i have been out training for the Bath Half marathon in March.

Hope your Daughter does well with her A levels, and good luck with the move in 2008.

Hi all - good to hear of others moving to Melbourne. We are just beginning all of the Skills paperwork so a long way to go but are looking at areas around Hoppers Crossing. Are also encouraging partner's sister and her family to make the move and so far they are nearly as eager as us! Hope to make some good friends along the way and join up for infamous bbq and beer when we all get there! :D

Look forwrd to helping each other out with our worries etc

Scarletfever will become famous soon enough
Hi Caroline.

We're in similar position to you in that we're just getting our skills assesments out of the way. Long way to go for sure, but it'll be worth it. My sis is living in Brisbane , so we're keen to go there and join her and the family.

Good luck
Dan
