Acknowledgement to Visa ?

we have sent our application (136 independant) and it was acknowledged on Jan 16th, they have taken the money £795 (I thought it was £600?) How long is the wait normally for a decision, we had our medicals in advance and they are lodged along with our police checks.

I think ours took about 4 weeks but i have read somewere that theres a backlog ,good luck and i hope you here soon ,waiting is the worst bit !! were you heading?

Hi, our time line............. application recieved 22nd Aug , acknowledgement 26th Oct , meds 24th Nov & PC , sent to Sydney 7th Dec.
Request for wage slips from CO , lost a few week because of christmas , sent wage slips 4th Jan...................... still waiting .................... Agent said they are just getting visas for people sent begining of Aug

Hopefully won't be long now.... evey phone call sets you on edge...

Front loading, can knock a few weeks off the time it takes to grant your visa because - are you ready to go because when the visa comes it's dated from when you had the police checks or medicals (whichever has the earliest date), so you may not be giving yourselves very long to validate your visa.
