wee wen is on a distinguished road
springfield lakes, brisbane

Hi everyone,
We're somewhere in the middle of waiting for a case-officer for our skilled-independant visa which was received at Adelaide on 31st October 2006 (myself, husband & 8 year old daughter )
I've been reading the forum for a few months now after it being recommended by my best friend who emigrated to Oz 3 years ago.
We are hoping to move to Brisbane. I am a trained nurse and Brisbane looks more promising work-wise for hubbie & house-price wise for buying a home out there.
There may be a real possibilty of employment for husband near Ipswich. Could anyone tell me anything about Springfield Lakes (the new planned community) eg is it recommended, crime rates etc. I did read on the forum that Ipswich was not a good area!!! and I realise that Springfield Lakes is fairly close to Ipswich.
The other area I think we would like is Redland Bay ( Victoria point etc) could anyone tell me how far a commute this is to IPSWICH , both in kms & length of time ( wouldn't want poor hubby travelling all day to get to work & back- want him to have plently of energy left to cook the barbie & get the bud out the fridge )
Thanks
Wee Wen :D
