replies please? am i posing questions in the wrong forum?

hi all,
we have put a couple of questions and haven't received any replies, think i haven't got the hang of this. we have just sent off our doc to the tra, it took us nearly nine months to get everything together. fingers crossed. my husband is a brick layer/stone mason(a real one, ha, ha). we are really conflicted about where to head in oz, brisbane, adelaide and perth were our main targets but we would really appreciate some advice. we have lived the ex pat life before but this is to be the final stop. it is a little scary as we have never been to oz and have no family/friends there, on the positive side it is a fantastic family adventure. we have 3 children 16yrs,14 yrs and 6....so where??
work will obvously dictate the final destination so calling all brick layers......help,

thanks and regards from essex,
judith brendan and our 3 adventurer's. :?

Hi

We are not bricklayers I am afraid but reading discussions on other forums the most call for you seems to be in Perth although I have also read that Cairns is also seeking brickies too.

If you check out another forum {sorry Tim** "britishexpats.com" and put in a search for brickies or bricklayers there are quite a lot of them on there who often have this discussion they will guide you in the right direction.

Good luck

Kaye :)

Hi Judith

Good luck with your TRA.

We're off to Perth but we research all the possibilities of where to go before deciding on W.A.

We have three kids too 15, 10 & 6 :D :D

Kind regards

Brisbane

Hi , Judith.
I'm a bricky and have been out to OZ many times . We came back in Oct 06 and are leaving in March for good . All i can say is ,the work situation in Brisbane and on the goldcoast south of Brisbane is plentyfull. There has been a lot of federal land release's in the past year or so which has boosted the building over there . The house prices are still reasonable.

All the best

hi kelly,
i know what you mean, we are torn between brisbane, adelaide and just about everywhere else. when are you hoping to get there? i know it is a small world and getting smaller, my youngest son goes to school in dagenham.
i saw in another post you are concerned about leaving your sister, it can be hard but you have your own family now and think of the opportunites that you as a family will have, not to mention how much more they will appreciate you from a distance, ha,ha.

keep talking,
judith :)
