hi judith
i replied to you in your other post before i read this reply, hope you are feeling more upbeat now.
what school does your son go to :?:
deciding where to go is so hard but i think we have picked queensland, not narrowed it down from that yet but just getting a state is progress.
I know what your saying about my sister and your right, i have to tell myself everyday what im going to and not what im leaving behind but its extremely hard when i cant mention it in front of her as she wont speak about it at all, apart from when she was told we were going to apply she wont say a word in fact she didnt say a word when we told her, she just sobbed all weekend, which broke my heart
my dream is that when we go she will visit and fall in love with it and move out straight away, we are so close and my kids are hers, she has been there through every illness, cut knee, school play the lot and we see each other nearly every day, the kids only have to phone her and ask her to pop round and she is here asap, seeing that she lives half an hour drive away she still does it even if its just to show her a picture they did at school.
sorry for waffling on. my husband has gone skiing in bulgaria with some friends i cant sleep with him not here, im tired and my brain wont stop
well keep in touch
kelly :(

Carrie is on a distinguished road
Hi

Good luck with everything. The only thing about Perth is that it is quite isolated from the rest of Australia, and the flights are expensive to get anywhere. Like others have said, do your research on all areas. Adelaide and brisbane are good choices, not sure about Cairns, but it is tropical there, very, so you need to consider your family's thoughts on climate etc.

Cheers

Caroline :0)

EM&M will become famous soon enough
Hi, my best friend has just been granted her residency and her hubby is a stonemason. They are heading to Perth in the next few months.

I understand about the family thing, I know my mum said she would never forgive me if we went and also have the only grandchildren 2&half and 4mths. We are really close but I have to look to my children and what opportunities that will be available for them when they get older, my brother is 24 and cant afford to leave home even though he works full time.

Apart from that I LOVE AUSTRALIA and have been many many times up and down the east coast and hubby has family on the Gold Coast, we were planning to go for Xmas this year but have decided to plough the money into trying to get there for good rather than just a holiday. We have decided not to tell anyone at this stage until we find out if we are able, even though my hubby has been in his job 17yrs and me 10yrs both of our trades and not skilled trades so dont want to upset everyone and go through the emotional termoil only to find out we cant go.

Sorry to woffle on.........and Good Luck......Live the Dream

Hiya pippycol,

We are a family of 4 (me, hubby and 2 girls 5 and 1) planning on moving to Brisbane also in August, although no visa as yet but hopefully soon. We havent yet decided which area to settle in and probably wont till we get there, I am obsessed with trolling through websites looking for information, (haven't watched a soap in ages). I have family in The Gap which is north west of Brisbane its a really nice area but not near a beach. I cant justify living in Oz but not near the beach to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle which is main reason for going there..
Anyway keep in touch let me know what u decide.

Hi Coach Girl and Kelly,

What schools do both your children go to?? I have one at Eastbrook in year 8 and twins at Rush Green Juniors in year 5. The twins, girl won't think about going to Eastbrook and I don't think the boy will cope there, but at the time we wasn't to struck on Albany either, hence one of the reasons for the move to OZ!!!

Hope to hear from you
