Hi there
Think you need to take it one step at a time :P :P

Firstly, not being married is not a problem. If you can prove that you have been in a relationship for more than one year (ie. bills, joint accounts, council tax etc..) then your classed as whats known as a 'Defacto Relationship' which is fine
I came up against this as we are not married, but it caused no problems

As for the kids thing, you maybe need some good advice on that one.....

Good luck

Bex & Nick is on a distinguished road
Hiya

I've just joined the site and saw your question. My other half and I have applied as a "de facto" couple. There hasn't been any problem although it has been rather long winded.

We each had to provide a Statutory Declaration saying how we'd met, how long we'd been together, details of holidays, addresses, photo's, as well as utility bills and bank statements to show we were at the same house! Also had to get three independent Stat Decs (from friends/family) who confirmed we are a couple.

Anyway, after all that we've decided to get married before going to Oz!! So our issue then will be sorting out the name change!

Sorry can't help on the children front but hope the above is useful. Good luck

Bex
