Hi im new to the site, have been in oz 17 mths 1 year in Melbourne then came to perth in july.
Im 25 and live here with my husband and 3 year old daughter living in Marmion north perth at the moment!!

Hi there im a newy to this awesome site too my family and i are thinking of living in Perth in Oct i am from New Zealand and this site has been very helpful to me i have six children and my husband has been thinking of working in the mines where hes brother is working there at the moment. Can I ask why you are leaving Nz, I prefer Oz but oh wants to look at Nz as well, think its because he has a mate over there, but I've told him I think money wise we would be worse off, is this right.

The reason for leaving is for a new dirction in life and money is good in the mines thats what weve been told so Yes you are right wages over here is a bit on the low side the minimum starting rate in New Zealand is $11.25 working in (cleaning,supermarkets,petrol attendant,waitresses,mc donalds) my husbands been working in the mest works for ten years here and he on $16.00 hour on fouty hour week but it all depends on what trade you have too.
