anybody from manchester...

We are a family of 3 pommes and an Aussie living in Adelaide, me Wendy a Manchester girl 45years actually,Pete a manchester lad 21, my son, Lisa 24, the daughter and John the aussie 44 my husband. We have been here nearly 4 years and we love it,BUT we do miss the English sense of humour and where we live there arnt a lot of English around.

When you talk to anyone from the UK, you seem to have that instant connection, I have found it really difficult to find any friends(English) that is with the same fun outgoing nature as me, and so has the daughter, we do go out together, but we both need friends are own age, we have a lot of Aussie mates, but its not the same. I would like to join Brits abroad club and talk to other Brits who might have the same problems as we do, if anyone out there Genuine knows of any such place.............. let us know

cheers[/code]

Dear Karen

Thanks for your reply. We went to Bribane in September, we loved it, we were at the Goldcoast. Its a great place to live, its alot bigger than Adelaide and lots of wonderful places to see, my husband loves fishing so he was in his element.

I am back in Manchester in Jan for 3 weeks, I am visiting my family and friends, were off to Dublin for a 4 day break, I always wanted to go there but never did.

I hope you sell your house, the daughters partners family live in Urmston, they are there now, wonder if you live close?

Live here in OZ is fab, the lifestyle and everything that goes with it, I never regret coming here, but do get homesick from time to time.

Good luck selling your house and hope it all works out for you

Wendy

hi, from near Bolton

Hi, we are a family in Westhoughton near Bolton, just starting the process. Hoping to go on 136 PR visa, MODL. We are dual British/South African.... but really need a few good doses of sun and space!! Will miss Lancashire people, but can't wait to arrive Down Under. 8) Will probably head for Regional Vic or South Oz.
Hope your applications are going well :D

Hi Wendy

I'm new to this site and saw your message.

We - me paralegal (40), husband electrician (38), son 16 and daughter nearly 8 - have lodged our application for a visa and just awaiting the process. We are looking to move to Evanston/Tanunda/Gawler area if and when we get out there.

How long did your application take?

I am working in Oldham at the moment and it is raining, blowing a gale and generally horrible! Bet it's better where you are! Don't know whether I can steel myself to go to Sainsbury's to get some lunch.

Hope to hear from you.

Hi everyone!
We are a family of 3 - myself Jo, Hubby Craig and ickle girl Ruby, living in Failsworth and working in Oldham.
We're in the process of finding out as much info as poss hoping to apply asap. Had our hearts set on QLD (skilled visa) but have found out if we go on a nominated skilled visa we can go to regional vic or south oz.
Made us think now what we really want.
Any advice on QLD, Vic or South Oz would be great!
Jo x
