Just found this site and what a great help it has been so far. My wife and i and our three children started our immigration April on a skilled visa. We have had the approval from the TRA and are waiting to hear from the government on our visa's and we can't wait, what a long time. has anyone got any information on how long they are taken, we put our main application in on the 20th August.
We are hoping to go and live in Brisbane were all my wife's family live. We had a great holiday out there last Christmas and what a place to live.

We are just putting ours together, how long did it take to have it approved once you had sent your TRA off??

Please excuse the ignorance, but what is a TRA ? I am in the military and hoping to transfer to the ADF ... very new prospect and info gathering like a squirrel preparing for winter !!

TRA is the TRADES RECOGNITION AUSTRALIA.
We are in the process of filling our Pre-migration skills assessment application form, which the TRA have got to approve and recognise me as a Cook which is what we are getting in on.
I don't know if the same goes for what you are doing?????

I am going through as a cook which apparently is easy enough to get in on as long as you prove yourself in your TRA, how many pages was yours and are you using an agency?

Yes we used a agent, The whole thing was about 40 pages as I am self employeed and that opened another mine field. I found the agent a great help as they listed everything I need to send.
