Hello there

Hi there, I've just registered so thought I'd best say hello. Visas have arrived (whoopee) and house sale seems to be going through (fingers crossed everybody!) As soon as the cash hits the account we'll be off to Victoria - via a holiday route down the east coast. It's taken some time but really feels like its actually happening now - still tons to sort out and not quite sure where to start, but it's all part of the adventure (apparently!). All advice greatly received (shipping/finance transfer/flights/real estate/job search - you name it, I've not got much of a clue about it!). Have fun.

Thanks very much for the hello. I'll certainly be checking out the forum to try to get as much help as I can - it certainly all seems quite friendly and useful!

Hi Mikeyp,
we moved to Victoria on the 22nd August this year - we are 1/2hr from Melbourne CBD - any ideas where you would like to settle?
Good luck with your move :D

Thanks Lisa,

We are initially heading to Geelong as we have friends there. I've not actually been there before ( ) but my partner has. Nothing is set in stone at the mo - I guess finding work will influence where we eventually end up - but we have to start somewhere. I'm just excited that it's finally happening and get wait to get started.

Mike

Well thanks for that - and thanks for the link. I've had a look at that site and found the decription of the local suburbs/towns which at least gives some idea when considering potential property rental/purchase areas.
