Gas and Elec are much cheaper than in the UK!!! I'm not sure if they have mains gas here, when I lived in SA we had bottled gas to our cooker and that was about $40 a month. Our elec was about $110 a quartre on average.
Not sure about renting as we bought straight away. Go on
www.realestate.com.au i think that's right, and just put in canberra and then click on the rental section and you will be able to view all the homes for rent, along with prices and other info.
