Hi all

We have finally sent our application off - went on saturday- after months and months of gathering information and umming and arhhing. we are applying for a defacto spouse visa, so not even one of the biggies and it seems to have taken us for ages to get it together, I really admire anyone applying through any other route! But now it is done and gone and got the strangest feeling like our whole life is in the hands of a complete stranger!
I must admit I do feel alot better now, not so stressed, knowing that it has gone, and now can concentrate on our upcoming wedding in November and the diy that we must do on the house! why oh why we chose to do everything at once I don't know, we always say we never do anything the easy way!!

So now we have joined the waiting game too, and looking forward to our new adventure, if we get it!

Hi Heids,

Also applied for a de facto spouse (see my 'help' topic to follow)and was more than a pain also getting everything together. I have no doubt that they will come back with more requests, reckon it's just to test your resolve. And buy it does test you.

However, it did come through in the end c. 3 months later.

Thank you all for your best wishes.

We couldn't believe it yesterday when Carl got an email from Australia House acknowledging our application, and also asking him to go for his medical, he also had to phone them as well. And basically they said on the phone that everything was fine with the application and as long as the medical was ok then he would be issued with a visa, and that it would be a straight permenant visa as we had been together more than five years! OMG we just couldn't believe it and never expected to hear from them so soon - we were expecting an acknowledgement next week!! Just hope that everything will be ok at the medical now.

I think a small part of me thought that they would say no and that would be that, taken out of our hands, now I just feel excited and nervous. I so want to stand up and shout YIPEEEEE, but keeping a lid on it just in case there is a prob at the medical.

I think we are in shock that we have heard so soon! Oh I'm gonna just shout a little yipeeeeee :D

Thank you guys!!

Medical and xray booked for next week so hopefully everything will be ok and we should have it not long after that!! We are off on holiday to spain at the end of sept so hopefully we should come back to some good news!! Just don't want to get our hopes up too much just incase there is a prob, but as far as we know everything should be ok, so if there is a prob we don't know about it!.

Behind closed doors we are running around like little kids!!

A bit bloody scared but OMG how exciting!!!!!!
