Hope you are all well. I have been checking out this site for sometime now but only just got myself register on it.
We've got the visa and still in home country. Hoping to be out there this November - heading to Sydney. I would love to get in contact with others who are heading out there too or are going through the same thing as us. there are so many things to do that I don't know where to start.
Told one of my friend and he didn't seem to be too pleased about it. all he said was that Australia is 20 years backward than Uk and that I will be back before I know it. :(

Hi ,seems like that guy is jelous, to me,some people cant be happy for others trying to better themselves or have new and exciting life experiences,pretty sad :( Anyway dont let others put you off, its along and stressful road at times but the end result is well worth it. All the best and hope all your dreams come true.

The UK 20yrs ago was fine(well much better than today) ,so isnt that why we are deserting this sinking ship anyway,the biggest difference i found was people living in Oz actually seemed to have pride in their country,not like here ,we too are looking to leave in November im just hoping i can get everything done in time ,,you spend months planning everything then when Dimia finally say 'yes' you dont know were to start and its utter chaos & going round in circles,,

Don't worry about what your friends say, if they were your friends, they'd be really happy for you and would be booking their flights to come and see you, my friends are already booking up for next year! We fly on 7th September and I know that I've forgotten loads of things and it's a complete minefield. I think I've replied to another one of your posts today, so if you want to chat, please PM me.
Hi Becky, Rob and I have just posted his app to the TRA, and made the mistake of telling my sister! Since then, she's been really funny with me. We're certain, however, that this is what we want to do (though not sure yet if we'll get in), and part of the appeal is that Oz still seems to retain the best bits of what was once part of society here. If that's being backwards by 20 years, I'm all for it! I suppose everyone will react differently to your plans, depending on their own agenda, but at the end of the day, you only get one shot at life, and should do what feels right for you having weighed up family issues etc. Jenny xx
