Work for Bricklayers

We are currently working to emigrate to Australia from the South of England. Husband is a bricklayer. We would like to know.

1 Is it too hot to work as bricklayer in Perth and Bribane, without killing yourself.

2. How much is a reasonable wage.

Help

xx

work

Hi Guys,
sorry had to laugh, yes it gets hot but not that hot, the hottest time here in Perth is Feb when it can get to 40 plus but it normally only lasts a couple of weeks and is usually low to mid 30's which you get used to quickly, as for wages on price they get a dollar a brick and $1.60 a block
good money here, the only thing he needs to know is brick sizes are different they come out at 230x110x77 without a joint, also all work is done with profiles so is very easy {no level work**
hope this helps ,
Davy

scott 1979 is on a distinguished road
the price on the blocks only works out at approx £7 per meter
but the price on bricks is about £30 more per 1000 than we get in yorkshire
as the blocks are about 30p per block cheaper it works out to be the same as here
is the cost of living in perth any cheaper than here
cheers mate scott

Hi DavyT

Interesting your response toTina C's questions, I wanted to find out the same things, also do they have some sort of adative to stop the muck from going off too quickly, good news about the profiles-better than having to think about what you are doing!!!!
One last question what are the average hours and do you have to work Saturdays?

Laid back lifestyle here we come
