Hi everyone

We are just about to start the migration process. Out to visit in September and aiming to move next May if all goes according to plan. Hubby is a builder and I'm a beautician. Three daughters aged 16, 10, 6. All very excited. Heading to country outside Perth between York and Beverley. Anyone else heading in that direction? Also does anyone have any info on sending dogs? I've two pups who I would hate to have to leave behind but have been told sending them could cost £5,000. Like most of you lot we can't wait to get out a here. Just seems like there is noting here for us any more in Devon, least of all the weather!

Good luck everybody x

Hi there,
can't help with any of you're questions but everyone is really helpfull on this site so i am sure someone will.
We were in Devon at the weekend and years ago i would have happily moved there but i am so glad we decided on Australia, not that anything is wrong with Devon, the weather ruins everything, out of 4 days there we had one really nice day the rest was wet and cold,so you end up paying a fortune to be entertained indoors,

Good luck with the application :D

Hi Sares

Good luck with your plans hun.

Shipping of animals is all about the size of container so the rough guide seems about right. Golden Arrow have a very good reputation and www.jets4pets.com have been recommended on forums. Jets 4 pets will give you an online quote. I am planning to take three dogs so will be on Valium I'm sure!!

Planning on Queensland myself but there are many on here going to Perth.

Good luck with your plans hun

Regards
SCoop

Hi there,

Sorry I don't know anything about shipping over animals but just wanted to say Hi and wish you all the best with your application.

We are only at the beginning (awaiting skills assessment) so know how you feel.

Everyone is really friendly on this site and I'm sure all your questions will be answered.

Take care, Kerry n gang

Hi, I have tried all the companies i could find to get a quote for taking my dog. The prices range from 1600.00 - 4500.00. I have decided to go with Golden arrow. They quoted 1800.00 for my staffie ( he's a bit bigger than the average sized one!) As Scoop said it all goes on container size.

You must also take into consideration that some companies will pick your dog up from your home, but they seem to charge a lot for this. My quote from golden arrow doesn't include them collecting him

Also you have quarentine fees when you et to OZ. They work out at roughly 800.00 aud$.

Good luck with all your plans, it will feel like youve waited froever by the time you get there!!

Hi . Myselft , My Wife and our 4 year old , are moving to Beverley at the end of January , Sally (my wife) is a primary school teacher and we have been sponsored through the wa teaching authority. We could have been placed anywhere in WA , so to be only 80 miles from Perth looks like a bit of a result. We know nothing of Beverley other than that it has a population of 1600 and looks like an episode of Little house on the Prairie. Would be good to have some English neighbours as Im not sure there are many poms in or around Beverley. We are moving from Peterborough.

We sadly had to give up our 8 year old Golden Labrador , the hardest thing we have ever had to do. Although we made sure he got a loving home with a family who really wanted him. It was not just the cost . but the flight and the 4 weeks in quarantine, and then of course there's the change in weather. Having said that if he was a few years younger we would have definately tried to take him with us.

Good luck with everything.

Justin , Sally & Jake Baxter.
