Google.com.au is the best - just type skills in demand and the state WA/SA/NT etc and look for the URLs that have .gov.au at the end, ie. www.migration.wa.gov.au, http://www.workliveplay.qld.gov.au/d...nt.cfm?id=3704
      Justin TRA 8/4/11 success 10/5/11, WA SS sent 10/5/11 - approved 16/5/11, 176 lodged 1/6/11, CO 26/6/11, Meds 16/8/11, Finalised 26/8/11, PCC 16/9/11, VISA GRANTED 1/11/11 Arrived in Perth 12/11/2012

How many years experience do you have as this plays a factor in which states do sponsor social workers. I am also a SW and we were granyed our visa last month. However we are not going until Feb, good luck with everything :)

all areas offer sponsorship, they're desperate!! Just advise you to do your homework thoroughly especially if you're looking to child protection social work!

Hi i have 8 years experience, well coming 9 now. I do not work with children though. I work with adults and my current role is working with schedule 1 offenders and individuals with a learning disability/mental health issues. I have worked in Hospital Social Work Teams, Physical disability, Older Adults, Drugs and Alcohol, Asylum, etc, basically I have covered all 'Adults' social work. I have worked with children 8 years ago but then have been in adults ever since.

Are you being sponsored? How long did your visa take. We have only just appointed visa specialists. Did you get your quals verified by AASW? What was the cost. Also I have a DIPSW and a BSC in applied social sciences (the degree). Is the BSC ok for AASW?

As you have managed to get a visa, any advice would be grateful, ie, the process, the cost, how you found somewhere to live, did you rent, are you renting your house out in the uk...... anything you could think of would be helpful. thanks:)
