Hello Poms.
Hey im Jack im 18 and from the West Midlands. I have been on the working holiday visa since October done quite a bit of travelling and a bit of work. 5 weeks today ill be leaving Australia. My reasons for this is to hopefully study and get a degree so I can hopefully get a job out here which would transpire into citizenship. I know this is a long time to go but thought I would tell of you of my journey now rather than do it at a later time. Im looking to study either Business management or Business consultancy in Austria/Germany, if anyone could tell me which of these holds the most weight in getting a job over here that would be great. If anyone who's done the same could tell me about their journey that would also be fantastic.
Thanks.

I couldn't tell you re jobs but good luck with everything! Sounds like a good plan. I was gonna go do the sensible thing and go to uni but 3 months before starting we're going back to aus in the hope it'll eventually lead to me getting a partner visa!! Lol. Good luck and btw welcome to poms! :)
Did you have a great time travelling? silly question I bet!

Welcome to PIO
Maybe having a look at the Current SOL will give you an idea of your degree would suit any of the occupations that are currently in demand in Australia. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1-2.pdf
But nobody can tell you if in 3-4 years down the road what the immigration process is going to be like. As currently its changing aver year getting harder to get in to Australia

Yes my East Coast travelling for the month was the best time of my life. I came over by myself as a 18 year old so it was a big shock staying in hostels and not being with anyone you knew but I did a group thing that I booked before I arrived so it helped a lot. Yer I heard about quite a few who got over on the partner visa. Yes I know the job situation is very unpredictable for the future but from the people ive spoken to the degrees im looking at are quite solid and the units covered in them are very diversified. Just love it here so much and really could see myself spending the rest of my life here so even though I vowed never to go uni its given me something to aim for now :D

Sadly studying in a non-english speaking country will make no difference and the DIAC only cares about how good your Engish is - if you see how they allocate points to English ability. It was the case before July 2011 that people who had studied a degree (any subject) in a community language got extra points - that is now not the case you need to have a NATTI translating qualification to gain extra points.
Studying in a English Speaking country would be better.

Have you thought about a vocational course? Once you qualify and gain some experience it could prove a quicker and less expensive way to get you into Australia?
Good luck!

My course will actually be in English. The reasons why I want to study in Austria or Germany is firstly im partially of a German speaking background( I can only speak a bit of German however) and the fees are much lower. I don't really want to spend anymore time living in England personally just not a fan and it would widen my horizons living as a English person in a non English speaking country.

Firstly thanks for saying Good luck it means a lot when anyone does not try to put me down and say I can't do it, many people never thought I would spend 9-10 months in a foreign country alone at the age of 18 but I managed it. Personally I have never really been interested in a trade, I worked for my Uncle in Germany for a week last year doing plumbing and that kind of confirmed it to me. I have always been interested in the business/financial sector since a young age.
