Brits Obsessed by the Weather
Here you go Hoff, you can now keep going on about the weather.
IT’S official, Britons are obsessed with the weather.
Every second there are at least 282 of us talking about what is going on in the sky, according to new research.
And as a nation of armchair forecasters, each one of us gossips about the climate more than 40 times, with an
average of 18 different people, each month.
Research agency Starcom MediaVest Group spokesman Simon Stanforth said: “We really are a nation of armchair
meteorologists, following every twist and turn from the cold snaps and downpours to droughts and heatwaves.
“The majority of us talk about the weather at home on the phone as we plan our day around the elements.”
Leon Brown, a meteorologist at The Weather Channel said “It’s no wonder the weather is never far from our minds, having just experienced the wettest April and the third
warmest March since records began.”

In Perth the only thing people talk about is the temperature - that's all you need to know - as it's going to be warm and sunny most days - just how warm is important so you know if it's long sleeve or short sleeve shirt!

I'm always moaning about Melbourne's winter weather but after watching the Queen's River Pageant last night on a cold wet miserable summers day of 11 degrees it made yesterday's 14 degree winters day in Melbourne look great.

Well it's been cold (25) in Cairns the last week and wet, not a great start to our dry season, thankfully today we have blue skies back and 32 degrees.
I saw pictures of one of the jubilee street parties and I felt really sorry for them, trying to eat whilst being drenched.

LOL, I was just thinking that. I have a temperature widget on my desktop and it says 13C and I can hear the rain outside. Melbourne's winter is just like a British summer!

If memory serves me right, the Coronation was on a wet and cold day...60 years later...Nothing has changed
Cheers, Bobj.

32 degrees in Cairns!!it's a cold misseral day in Victoria today, I may have to reconsider where to live, not that I'm obsessed with the weather.

Hey, what about climate change, I'm paying tax for this you know, I want my money's worth. Make it either hotter or colder, then I'll feel like I've got value for money.

We found Melbourne to be too much like the UK weather wise, hence the move to warmer climates lol.

yeah, now I've got used to it, I can't really manage below 24C. Could really do with moving to Darwin or maybe Perth. I've worn a long sleeve shirt and thin jacket for work for most of the Melbourne summer which would have been unheard of for me in the UK, it was short sleeves during the 20C+ heatwaves!
