Glen Waverley - Friends & advice please
Hi,
We are moving to Glen Waverley next week after a stressful few weeks trying to secure a rental. Originally we were going to settle in Berwick, but after doing the commute into the CBD for a few weeks, we've decided it's too far out for us.
I'm hoping that someone can give me some advice on good places locally to buy fresh meat, fruit and veg, as the supermarket prices are killing us! Also, are there any farmers markets in the area?
We have two girls aged 12 & 9 and would love to meet up with people living locally.

Hi Victoria
I am so glad that you finally found somewhere, you must be so relieved. You can start to relax a little now and start enjoying your time here.
You could try going to Oakleigh for the meat, Tasman's have a shop there. About Us - TASMAN Market Fresh Meats

Thanks Kate, yep we are really pleased with the house. I will check out Tasman, as I like their one in Berwick and what do you mean you're cold? The weather's been fantastic, especially after the endless months of winter in the UK
See you Friday

If you are travelling into the CBD, do you have time to visit the Vic market?
They will be hard to beat on prices for fish, meat & fruit & veg. Selection & quality is excellent.

I went to work this morning on the motorbike, because the car decided it wasnt going to start, and I set off with sleeves rolled up, and just jeans and although fresh, it was lovely.
It was only when I stopped at the garage, and he was scraping the ice off a car windscreen I realized it was colder than I thought

Hi Victoria
I am trying to organise a lunch for next week. Can you make it out to Croydon? I have just moved here myself(having initially emigrated to Adelaide a year ago) so am a bit like a newbie myself, new to Melbourne anyway. I have 2 sons aged 7 and 9 and my husband has started his job. I shall put a post up in the next day or so to let you know where and when we are meeting if you are interested.I already have 2 others that are interested in meeting up for a chat and lunch.
Kind regards, Kelly.

Hi Kelly,
Thank you for the invite, I would love to come along next week but we are actually in Narre Warren until the 29th, so Croydon is a bit of a mission from here. Please let me know when you are having another meet up and I'll be there.
I hope that you are settling well. We are pretty much still at the 'what the hell have we done' stage, but hopefully things will get better once we've moved in and the container has arrived.
Hope to be able to meet up with you soon.

I laughed when I read the bit 'what the hell have we done stage'- I know eactly where you are coming from on that... and now we've got that feeling all over again!! I feel like I've aged 10 years in the past year, what with moving from England to Adelaide, then Adelaide to Melbourne, but life is a big adventure and we're enjoying it too. Will let you know where and when we will meet up for when you are over this way more. Cheers, Kelly.
