Need help?
Hiya! I'm Sonia and i like to think i'm pretty informed with the following suburbs in terms of housing, reputations, where not to go and various other things if you need help on information please ask questions in this thread, i thought i'd make it easier for you since i've seen a lot of these questions in various threads on these suburbs and some have been posting misinformation about them being bad or rundown suburbs when really they aren't all that bad (and in most cases not at all)
Tarneit
Truganina
Point Cook
Laverton
Werribee
Caroline Springs
Hillside
Taylors Hill
Taylors Lakes
Burnside
Sydenham
Melton
Roxburgh Park
Craigieburn
Deer Park
Derrimut
Wyndham
and of course the smaller surrounding suburbs of what i've just mentioned.

Hi Sonia, this is a really helpful thread to start!! I have heard mixed things about point cook and also that point cook is a "crime hotspot" for that suburb, although info is a couple of years old. What do you think of point cook?

Point Cook is lovely! It's changed a lot in such a short span of time it's amazing and now it's one of Melbourne's top booming suburbs in regards to house prices but they're still very affordable choices in either building or buying. There is an older area but new estates are going up and there is a newly created town center Welcome to Point Cook Town Centre, packed with life's little pleasures <you can see more pictures of the centre and other bits and bobs there too. Very family friendly suburb and it's a melting pot of people with affluent estates and middle income estates i can't say a bad thing about Point Cook, another good point is its close proximity to the beaches if you enjoy going to the beach.

well you hit the nail on the head there!! point cook may not be well established as the east, or have the same greenery(as its still building site in some places). but you cant beat the friendlyness and the vibe. i stopped a lady with a young lad and asked about the lads school uniform and before i know it, i have her number and have arranged to meet for coffee tomorrow. now how friendly is that? tess xx

Very true i had needed a local taxi and i asked a girl and her entire family stopped and tried to remember the local cab number for me to use and didn't leave until the number went through, lovely people and it might be a modern facility but i tend to think Point Cook town centre has a warm atmosphere because of the people.
