Mount Eliza is a lovely suburb there are small blocks of land and large blocks of land. The beach side with views is the most expensive and $2,000,000 is a price a lot of the houses there have. However if you check realestate.com.au you will find there is a range of prices in Mount Eliza. The other side of the Nepean Highway has properties that look over the Moorooduc Plains and also large blocks of land with lots of trees. The village is on the beach side and if you lived over the other side you would probably have to drive to the shops. There is lovely tennis club, nice cafes and restaurants, talk of building another shopping centre which everyone is opposed to. People of Mount Eliza are very vocal about their area. Toorak College is in Mount Eliza an independent girls school as is Peninsula Grammar. There is a public high school. It has dentists, doctors, vets lovely plant nursery called Lintons and is about 10 - 15 minutes from Frankston and 10 minutes from Mornington. I have friends who live there and they love it.

Hello there, We have moved to the bay area (east side of Melbourne), Its really lovely, its around 20 minutes from the city and as the name says, its on the bay. great parks, great walks and a chip shop to die for. The schools are good and the parks are Fab, you will love it! Loads of trains into the city every half an hour.
We are from liverpool as well, trust me, its a lot better!

Hi Chris and Jane

Just found this other post - are you renting in the bay area and if so how much are you paying? Do you have any info on the schools there?

Thanks

Does any one know any thing about schools for boys. Mine will be 13(almost 14) and 11, when we hopefully get there next year.

Thanks

Hello Morag

well its not cheap, Its $515 a week where we are, we have a modern 3 bedroom, Its nice to be honest, large lounge area/ kitchen, two bathrooms and double garage, The area is called Bentleigh East or east Bentleigh, nobody seems to know. There are some very good schools in east bentleigh, The one around the corner is surpose to be very good. I have heard that the state school is about the same as private school in the Uk, I dont know how true that is but what I have seen of the schools, They are all sports nuts and the kids seem well behaved, I believe the Bay area generally has very good schooling all round, I am afraid to say, I am unsure about the rest of Melbourne, Not yet ventured that direction yet. Hope it helps
