hello

hello

have you been here before
buying a car is straight forward as long as its got a roadworthy
slip try carcity in ringwood its massive 40 dealers under one roof
you dont actually need insurance buy law here but you know what i mean

houses your looking at about $350ish maybe even more$400 for something have decent in the eastside thats a week by the way
but if you look west over the Bridge to the new sub divisions you will get brand new 3 bed house for $300 but im sure this will go up as what you get for your money is just so much nicer than the east BUT the public transport is miles behind the eastside theres alot of debate on this at the moment and lot of money being spent to improve it over the next few years basically crossing the bridge in the morning and a night is a bloody nightmare
but seriously i wouldnt let that put you off there are trains etc look at place like tarneit, hoppers crossing, caroline springs, deer park, altona theres plenty really in the east Richmond is handy but 1 bedroom flat $400 a week

any way hope this helps
drop me a line if you wanta anymore help
where are now the UK
you will love it we do most of the time
Cheers
Dave

HI
Renting? We have been in our rental for 2 weeks almost. Keep an eye on real estate websites such as Real Estate, Property, Land and Homes for Sale, lease and rent - realestate.com.au which list rental properties. When you go for a viewing there will probably be quite a few other people going to look at the same time, don't be put off though as not all of them will put in an application. If you have rented before bring over references to go with any application you make. We hadn't rented before but were able to offer 6 months rent in advance which helped! It also helps if you have a character reference from someone in Australia (friend or relative or employer).

hello

Barry
another good website for private rentals not real estate you get ripped of a bit with them
is Sydney Classifieds - jobs in Sydney, flats to rent, Sydney dating then just click on the city you want melbourne
basically follow the links
it worked for me

I used Hockingstuart.com.au and dealt with Sarah wright at the Caulfield office, she was really helpful and arranged our flat before we even arrived in Melbourne.

You might be pushed to find and move in somewhere within 3 weeks to be honest. Allthough give yourself a head start and looking now at realestate.com.au, once you've found a few properties contact the agents and book the viewings for when you arrive. They should also be abe to tell you when the property will be vacant for you too move in. Good luck!

Car buying and general laws are pretty much the same. When buying the car makesure its got a roadworthy certificate (like MOT) and some registration left (same as Uk car tax). Insurance shouldnt be a problem, try RACV or Allianz I found them the cheapest. They might be funny about insuring with a UK license so might be worth getting your vic license when you arrive. You can book an appointment to get it changed over, do a google search for vicroads and all the info is on there (vic roads is a bit like the DVLA). Costs about $50 for 3 years and there are no tests what so ever, got your license same day.

Hope that helps!
