Work prospects around Mornington

Hi, we are planning (hoping) to go to Mornington/Mount Martha in the next year or so but I've read something elsewhere that's got me a bit worried about jobs in the area. I can do pretty much anything admin or secretarial and my OH is an electrician. We shouldn't need to go into the CBD, we hope, but what are the job prospects if you down in the Mornington area? Should we be looking more towards Rowville/Ferntree Gully/Berwick rather than down on the peninsula, so that we can get into the CBD if necessary? We desperately want to live near the sea but can't afford seaside places nearer the city. Any views would be appreciated!
