Question Colac anyone?

Hi all,

Does anyone know what Colac and the surrounding area is like, and how far away is it to Geelong?

Any answers gratefully received.

Cheers,

Helenx

Colac is a very small country town about an hour west of Melbourne. Like most of Victoria, these small country towns tend to be much older and established than say in Queensland. The housing is older, and not as much new housing is being built these days in the older country towns. Population growth in country towns has droppe off too in ecent years. Country Victoria is beautiful though, and I would say some of the most characteristic towns in all of Australia can be found in country Victoria. This area around Melbourne traditionally has a much cooler climate than the rest of Oz and unlike Queensland, has a proper Winter!!!
The good thing with Colac, is it is close (half hour drive) to both Geelong and Melbourne. I have driven through Colac several times, and it is just a quaint little country Victorian town, and i'd say it wold be an excellent place to raise a family and start a new life.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies. Thanks YellowGeko have requested your video, it's about time someone did a decent video of OZ. Are you planning on doing more localised one's, say on certain areas like Geelong and surrounding areas maybe???? Keep up the good work.

I've been looking West and South West of Melbourne and Colac is on my list of possibles.
After looking at their website it seems they don't take any crap either!!!
Check out the noise restrictions - they cover everything from mowing your lawn to your stereo!!!

Thanks Tom, We have also looked at Winchelsea (in between Colac and Geelong) as we don't want to live in the thick of things. Good luck in your hunt.
