Well, its early days for us yet as we've been only here just over 3 moths, bit I've gotta say we love it here (all 6 of us - our kids are 17, 15, 13 & 11). We feel so much at home now and have my kids have settled in really well, and we've all established ourselves nicely now. There something for everyone I think and if not you can just drive into Frankston or further afield to ther shopping places or even the city. We're very glad we chose Mount Martha/Mornington to settle and I'd be surprised if anyone does'nt like it here !! Sally-ann x

Hi Evie B, we are also from hertfordshire and are doing our rekkie in october to mornington etc, O/H went out last nov and loved it, reading the other posts it sounds perfect. would be great to chat, where abouts are you in your application etc, from Sam,Stuart, joseph 6yrs, Archie 3yrs.
We are renting in Mornington whilst we build in Mt Martha and love the area!
The schools are good, there are plenty of shops, bars, good places to eat and even a couple of night clubs. Mornington has a small cinema or you can go to the drive in at Rosebud. We have beautiful, safe beaches bayside or if you like the surf you can go ocean side. We are surrounded by wineries, vinyards and golf courses!
I suppose the only negative I can think of is that we dont have a train line, you have to go to Frankston for that but to be honest, we are pretty self sufficient down here so unless you need to get into the city for work, you dont need the train any way!
My 9yo plays football, Ausie rules, basketball and swims so there are plenty of sporting clubs to chose from.
We have made lots of friends, in fact we had a house full of them last night to welcome my son back from the UK!
There are retirement villages down here but thats probabley because its a place where Ausies dream of living but cant afford to untill they get to that age.
My 19 yo is out down Main St' every weekend and loves it, the 21 yo has only been here 5 days but has been down there every night so far!
It dose get crowded during the summer holidays but thats a small price to pay for living in a tourist spot.
This is only my opinion and as said before.....each to their own......but the peninsula works for us.
Good luck.
Lesley
