Smile Cranbourne suburb of Melbourne advice

Could anybody offer any advice about Cranbourne close to Melbourne. There are a number of reasonably priced new homes available but don't seem to be able to find out much info about the area. What are the facilities in local area like / schools / sports / shops / bars ! etc ?

Hi, we have been looking at cranbourne too! From what we saw it was a up and coming area. Next to it is also Pakenham! Both seemed like nice areas. Lots of land for sale in pakenham at the moment at really good prices.

Cranbourne - Melbourne

Thanks for that, it probably explains why the house prices are reasonably priced in relation to Mornington, Mt Martha & Mt Eliza. Peckham & Beswick are getting really good reports - definatley worth looking onto!!

I'd recommend a trip out there as it is a long way from the city. It all depends on where you are working etc of course but I went out looking at land last weekend and I couldn't believe how long it took to get out there. That being said I'm having real trouble getting land anywhere else in the south east so you may not have a choice!

Hi, when we were in Oz i never actually did a trip from the city to Pakenham. My aunty lives in Chirnside park and she thinks it would take about a hour? We are happy with this but could you correct me if it does take longer...if it does then it will probably rule pakenham out for us! many thanks!

Pakenham is about 70min on Connex trains to central Melbourne. Likely door to door times would put it at 90mins. Thats what I'm doing anyhow when trying to get a guage on how far out to live. Still need to find out if cars are quicker though and whether parking costs a days wages like it does over here!
