Moving To Melbourne - Help Required!

Hi

We are a family of 4 Sarah, Steve, Emily 5 and Harry 2 moving to Melbourne at the end of April/beginning of May and am looking for some help/friends!

- Need some advice on areas and schools - husbands job is in Clayton South and we are looking at areas around this. Bayside would be nice if not too expensive, also have looked at areas further down the line towards Cranbourne - property seens to be a little cheaper and the houses quite a good size - does anybody live down this way and know what school are like in this area?

- Are they any expat groups/events we could join/go to on arrival to help us settle - my little girl is keen to meet up with some children!

- Any advice on furnished accomodation on arrival?

- Cars - 2nd hand, any recommendations?

Thanks

The Butlers!

Hi we are moving over in April (17th) and have visited many times before as I have all my mothers family living in Melbourne. We are planning to move to Frankston South / Langwarrin / Mount Eliza area and have found a great school for Kate who is 12, Matthew 9 is on a waiting list. Due to the poor exchange rate and having not sold our house we plan to rent initially although are ready to buy as we know what we want. I will probably be working in the CBD although no job yet!(yikes). THe CBD is about an hour (15 mins to station) by train from Mount Eliza, Langwarrin South. The train goes from Frankston. We love the area coming from Cornwall the harbour at Mornington feels a little like home and the coast is lovely. Be careful were you look for houses (Skye has a bit of a reputation and I personaly would not go to Cranborne).

Good luck and have you posted on Britvics? they are great on there and really friendly

Cheryl

With your husband's job being in Clayton South you could look at the Mornington Peninsula, It's really nice, countryside by the sea but still near enough to enjoy everything else. Have a look at our website for furnished accommodation and second hand cars.
