You know what? I`d be honest with everyone at home! Tell them next time that they ask that it isnt what you thought!! They say honesty is the best policy and being able to talk to people you know about it can help.

I am one of the lucky ones. Brissie works for me and has done from day 1. We settled immediatly, worked 2 days after landing & got straight stuck in! I think that helped us as we didnt have time to think or even get jet lag!

It may be that you need to move around aus to find somewhere u like.

I have been to Melbourne and I hated it. Nice to visit (we were there seeing family) but definately didnt want to live there. It reminded me of the lifestyle that we left. I wanted a change in style, thats why I came here. I have also visited Sydney and while I liked that better than Melbourne, I sure as hell wouldnt wanna live there either.

I know that those who live there may be offended by that but hey, I am one person and one opinion so please do NOT read too much into this!!

Get on the net, do some research and see if you can move to another city if u r that unhappy!

Melbourne is simply the best city in Aus by a long way, so much culture & sporting events, great shopping & restaurants.
Why would anyone want to live anywhere else.

It sure would I totally agree. My second choice would have to be QLD or FNQ, only problem with living up there is I'd miss the Aussie Rules on TV.

Hi
Have you been to look at Mornington or Geelong? Apparently, these are really nice places and perhaps we may look at these when (if) we ever get there. Our first impression of Melbourne was OK but it didn't light our fire as Brisbane did.
Have you managed to find jobs OK and did you buy a house or rent? Send us an email and let us know EVERYTHING ! Email is: cushtymebabe@hotmail.com

Cheers

Les & Warren x

Most regional Victoria is nice and within reach of Melbourne, Geelong is an actual city while Mornington is a region, from Frankston SE Melbourne to Westernport Bay and Portsea.....staying in Rosebud next month.

Visit Victoria website has some info and videos...
Tourism Victoria Video Room - Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Local council sites better

Geelong Australia - Geelong Australia

Mornington Peninsula Shire
