Pakenham / Berwick

Anyone familiar with the above two places.

Hi JNR,

What a coincidence - these are the two areas we are looking at too. We have friends in both Berwick and Pakenham and of course they both think their place is best .

We are off for our 2 week validating trip on the 16th Feb and are splitting the trip between our two sets of friends. So if you can hang on for a few weeks, I'll post a recci report when we get back.

You seem far too organised going on a validating trip! The closest we will have come to the shores of Oz would have a 4 pack of Fosters!!

I don't know about organised - its more a forced thing really. We can't sell the house so have decided to take the pressure off and validate before we run out of time.

This is the first time for us too and I'm a bit nervous in case one of us takes a dislike to something .

I promise I will do my report the minute I get home!!

Hi, we are also looking at Berwick - don't know anything about Pakenham so any info would be great. In reality, how far is Berwick from the sea? We would love to live right near the sea (i.e. Mount Martha) but would have to compromise on the house if we did. I wonder if it is worth it?

We are also looking at this area - hope to be there April/May time, would love to meet up with anyone, who could should us round! We are intially renting in Caufield south but want to settle with the kids as soon as we can!

Whats the area like - are the schools, facilites, transport links ok? Are they many British families living in this area?

Berwick is lovely, its grown so much in the past 10 years but still keeps the "village" feel in the centre then you have the huge shopping area at Fountain gate.
With the new freeway opening this year you could get to the sea at Frankston in around 20 mins easily.
Loads like Pakenham but must admit I'm not a great lover of it, nuch prefer Berwick.
